The Least Effort Technique I’ve Used for 30 Years to Move My Projects Forward in My PKM

2 min read

Would you like to…

  • …move your projects forward the easiest way?
  • …achieve your goals?
  • …avoid suffering?

Little Things Matter

You usually don’t pay attention to little things.

As a human being, it’s big things that catch your attention.

You want a big car, a big house, a big bank account.

You should better follow Groucho’s piece of advice:

“Dear son, happiness is made of little things: a little yacht, a little mansion, a little fortune…” — Groucho Marx

Jokes aside, it’s on details, on small things, where real added value lives.

The “Small” Starting Point

Each day, for each project, think of a small little tiny task you should do related to that project.

The smaller it is, the better.

It should be so little you cannot let procrastination in.

So small you’d be embarrassed to tell somebody you don’t feel like doing it.

The Easiest Technique to Move Forward in Life

Do the previous small task today.

If you apply this technique for a whole week, you’ll understand where you were on Monday and where you are on Friday.

The Concept of Progress

That’s how progress happens.

That’s how the Earth has achieved all its goals: micro-steps forward on a daily basis.

There isn’t any huge movement at all in just one push.

The Consequences

One push is just the sum of hundreds of small pushes you cannot even remember. It’ll seem nobody did them.

But yes, it was you, without suffering, effortlessly, almost thinking you were just relaxing on a couch.

You’ll feel motivated and excited because you’ll see the progress.

Takeaways

  • Think deeply about this small/stupid technique.
  • Give it a try.
  • You’ll think how the hell you didn’t start it sooner.
